Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep were added to India’s playing XI in place of Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana. With both teams winning a game by significant margins, the five-match series is tied. Rain interrupted the morning session twice. A bit less than half an hour was the duration of the first. The second stoppage, though, was what depressed the crowd gathered at the location. Umpires were forced to call early Stumps because play could not resume following the second delay. The good news is that Day 2’s schedule has been changed, and instead of starting at 5:50 am IST as usual, action will begin at 5:15 am IST.
